December 11, 2024The Indian Air Force (IAF) has opened its gates for the youth to join their Force as Agniveers under the Agnipath Scheme. The IAF has two groups: Group X and Group Y of Airmen. The Agniveervayus will initially be recruited into these groups. The authorities will release the application form tentatively in November 2023. Candidates willing to appear for Agniveer Vayu must submit their application form before December 2023.
Candidates must fulfil all the eligibility requirements before filling out the application form. The authorities will conduct the exam online for science, other than science subjects and science and other than science subjects. The candidate’s birthday must fall between December 29, 2000, and June 29, 2006 (both days inclusive) (for science subjects).
Science subject candidates must have passed the Intermediate/10+2 or an equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from a COBSE-recognised Education Board, with a minimum of 50% in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Cleared a 3-year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from a Government recognised Polytechnic institute with a minimum of 50% aggregate and 50% marks in English in the Diploma Course or Intermediate/Matriculation level if English is not a subject in Diploma.

Ans: One-time relaxation for the Agniveer 2022 batch, i.e. the upper age limit is up to 23 years.
Q.2: What is shortlisting of candidates for phase II?
Ans: Shortlisting candidates for phase II is done by applying the cut-off to call a sizeable number of candidates for testing at designated ASCs. The candidate being shortlisted purely depends on their performance in the online test. This list only carries candidates who have qualified to appear for the phase II testing. The number of candidates in this list is based on the likely vacancies and rejections during subsequent stages of testing.
Q.3: What is after the selection test?
Ans: Candidates who have cleared the selection test of online test, PFT, Adaptability Test-1 and Adaptability Test-2, and a medical test, have to secure a place in the Provisional Select List (PSL).
Q.4: Can my parents/guardian accompany me to the enrollment venue?
Ans: Only candidates are permitted to come to the enrollment venue. Parents / Guardians are advised to refrain from accompanying the candidates as accommodation may be an issue in towns where enrolment is being conducted due to COVID-19.
