About Exam

The National Testing Agency (NTA) in India administers the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), an engineering entrance exam for applicants seeking admission to prominent engineering institutes. NTA will release JEE Main application form soon on its official website. JEE main registration 2025 has been started from October 28, 2024. NTA will conduct JEE Main 2025 Session 1 from January 22 to 31, 2025 and JEE Session 2 between April 1 to 8 2025. Candidates will be able to download the JEE Main Admit Card by visiting the official site jeemain.nta.ac.in or can download their JEE hall tickets through the link given below in this article.

For Academic Session 2025, NTA has decided that the JEE (Main) 2025 will be conducted in two Sessions i.e. JEE Session 1 (January 22 to 31, 2025) and JEE Session 2 (between April 1 to 8, 2025). JEE Main 2025 Latest Updates

Exam Pattern

 NTA has released the JEE Main Application form on October 28, 2024. Candidates can fill their application form till November 22, 2024. JEE Mains exam 2025 will be conducted from January 22 to January 31, 2025.

NTA has notified a major change in the JEE Mains exam pattern 2025. The optional question format in Question Paper’s Section B, which was implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic, will be revoked. That means the option to attempt any 5 out of 10 numerical questions in Section B of each subject will not be available. Check Notification Here – Link

As per the official JEE Mains NTA notification, candidates with disabilities (PwD and PwBD) will get additional one hour of time for the JEE Mains 2025 exam.

JEE Main 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Study Plan to Maximise Score

NTA revised the JEE Main 2025 eligibility criteria. According to the criteria, there is no age restriction. Candidates wishing to take admission to the IITs, NITs or CFTIs must score about 75% or above marks in their Class 12 Board exam. Per the NTA, candidates who have passed class 12 or equivalent examinations in 2023 and 2024, or appearing in 2025, regardless of their age, can appear in JEE Mains 2025.

JEE Main 2025 Age Criteria

JEE Main 2025 does not have an upper age limit. However, candidates may be required to meet the age requirements of the institutes to which they wish to apply.

JEE Main 2025 Educational Qualification

Let us look at JEE Main 2025 educational qualification requirements: 

  • Aspirants must have passed their 12th or equivalent exam in 2022, and 2023.
  • Candidates appearing for 12th boards (or equivalent) in 2025 are also eligible to apply for the examination.

JEE Main 2025 Number of Attempts

Candidates will likely be able to appear for JEE Main 2025 exam twice this year. Furthermore, candidates can appear for the joint entrance examination JEE six consecutive times throughout a time period of three years.

Candidates must register on the official website of JEE Main before applying for the exam. Steps to fill out JEE Main 2025 registration form are mentioned below:

  • Visit the JEE Main official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  • Click on ‘JEE Main 2025 Session 2 Application’.
  • Now click on ‘New Registration.
  • JEE Main 2025 registration window will open. Candidates must fill in their details like name, date of birth, gender, etc.
  • Click on the checkbox and tap on ‘Click Here to Proceed’.

JEE Main application number will be generated and displayed on the screen.

How to Fill JEE Main 2025 Application Form?

  • Log in to the official website — as given above — using your credentials.
  • Fill out the application form for JEE Main 2025 with the necessary details.
  • Upload the necessary documents in the prescribed format.
  • Now, pay the application fee.
  • Click on the Submit button.

Candidates are advised to save their login credentials and print out the application form for future reference after completing it.

Do’s and Don’ts of JEE Main 2025 Form Filling

The applicant should submit only one application as multiple application forms will be rejected. Any attempt to violate this rule can lead to the candidate being disqualified, with legal action being taken, such as debarring from all future examinations conducted by the JEE Apex Board.

Candidates should have the following documents ready before filling out the online application form:

  • A computer/ laptop with a stable internet connection
  • Qualification details
  • A clear passport photograph (scanned copy) in JPG/JPEG format (size from 10–200 kb)
  • A scanned copy of signature JPG/JPEG format (size from 4–30 kb)
  • A scanned copy of Class 12 or an equivalent admit card/mark sheet (size from 50–500 kb)
  • Valid Email ID
  • Valid mobile number
  • Net banking account, UPI, or a valid debit/credit card

Please Note:

  • The final submission of the online application form will remain incomplete if all the steps are not completed.
  • The application fee will not be refunded once it has been paid.
  • The entire application process for JEE Main is online, and candidates are not required to send/submit copies of the document(s) to the JEE Apex Board through post/ fax/ email.
  • JEE Apex Board can use the data generated for analysis and research.

Applicants are advised to ensure their eligibility and category (if applying under the reserved category) as per the requirements of the institutions where the candidate is seeking admission. NTA will not be responsible for any incorrect/wrong information furnished by the student(s) in their online application form. Letters or emails in this regard shall not be entertained either.

Let us look at some of the important pointers related to the JEE admit card release date:

  • JEE Main 2025 Session 1 admit card will be issued three days before JEE Main Session 1, which is scheduled for January, 2025.
  • Candidates preparing for JEE 2025 must log in to their candidate portal using their application number, which will be system-generated at the time of registration, and then enter the date of birth in the required fields.

What is a Self-declaration Form in JEE Mains?

The declaration form for JEE Mains 2025 is a part of the form, printed on the first page of the JEE Main hall ticket. It informs about any symptoms of COVID-19, possible touch with any COVID-19 patient, and the details of quarantine (if any) in candidates and travel history in the past 14 days.

Candidates must carry their JEE Main 2025 self-declaration form with them, duly filled and signed wherever applicable.

The following are a few details related to JEE Main exam centres:

  • Candidates appearing for NTA JEE were asked to select four cities of their choice as test centres while applying for the exam. NTA will conduct the examination in cities listed in the information brochure across the country.
  • JEE Apex Board released the final allotment of the cities on the JEE Mains admit card for candidates who have registered for the exam. Candidates can log into their accounts with their application number and date of birth to check their allotted cities.
  • Please note that the decision of the JEE Apex Board regarding the allotment of centre, date, and shift will be final. No correspondence or requests will be entertained in such a case.

JEE Main Answer Key 2025

Eligibility Criteria

JEE Main 2025 final answer key PDF for Session 1 will be released in February, 2025. The last date to submit the objections will be in February, 2025.

In April or May 2025, NTA will likely issue the provisional JEE Main 2025 session 2 answer key. Then, NTA will upload the final JEE Main Session 2 answer key. The authorities will scrutinise the objections to the provisional answer key raised by the candidates and then release the JEE Main final answer key for Session 2.

JEE Main 2025 Result Declaration

Admit Card

JEE Mains 2025 Session 1 result will be declared in February, 2025 while, JEE Main Session 2 result will be uploaded in April or May 2025. Candidates can access their results using the JEE Main 2025 application form date number and date of birth (DOB).

  • The JEE result is available in the form of a scorecard with details of the candidate’s percentile scores in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and an average percentile score in all three subjects, All India Rank and JEE Main cut-off for JEE Advanced. Candidates who score above the cut-off will appear in the JEE Advanced exam. Candidates can download their results by using JEE Mains Login.
  • Along with the result, NTA also announces the list of toppers and a list of students with 100 percentile scores as per the result. The All India Ranks (AIR) of candidates and cut-offs are declared accordingly.

Important Note: The officials shall make no corrections whatsoever after the declaration of the result by the NTA.

JEE Main 2025 Cut-off

Exam Answer key

The JEE Main 2025 cut-off is of two types—admission and qualifying cut-off. The qualifying cut-off for the general category will likely be around 90.3, while the cut-off for reserved categories is expected to range from 35 to 70. Aspirants who meet the qualifying cut-off should at least score the required number of marks to be eligible to compete in the JEE Advanced exam.

Such aspirants will be eligible to propose their candidature for admission to IITs. JEE Apex Board (JAB) will release the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) list as a seat-intake window for each college. For the exam, aspirants must have a minimum score equal to the closing cut-off of the preferred participating institute.

A few statistics were found while comparing the cut-off marks of 2020 with that of 2021:

  • The 2020 cut-off percentile of the general category has increased to 90.37 from 89.
  • For the OBC category, the 2020 cut-off has decreased from 74 to 72.
  • In addition, the 2020 cut-off of the SC category has decreased from 54 to 50.
  • Similarly, the 2019 cut-off of the ST category has decreased from 44 to 39.

Do Not Try to Learn Anything New

Candidates tend to learn new topics for JEE Mains 2025 at the last minute in an attempt to cover more before the exam begins. This is not the right approach to preparing for JEE Main 2025.
