MHT CET 2024 Exam

The State Common Entrance Test Cell (SCETC), Maharashtra, conducts the MHT CET yearly. According to the latest tentative notice, the MHT CET 2024 (PCB) exam will be conducted from April 16 to 23, 2024; whereas the MHT CET 2024 (PCM) will be conducted from April 25 to 30, 2024. The course-wise exam dates have been announced (see latest update section). Candidates willing to get admission in Pharmacy, Engineering, and Technology courses at private and government colleges of Maharashtra must clear the MHT CET 2024 with good scores.

The MHT CET application process will begin on January 16, 2024, and continue till March 1, 2024. However, candidates can also submit the application form with late fees, within the given deadline. Candidates preparing for the MHT CET 2024 exam must fulfil the eligibility criteria defined by the authorities. Some of the important points of MHT CET 2024 eligibility criteria are as below:

• Nationality: Candidates applying for the exam should be Indian citizens.
• Age Limit: There is no age limit to apply for the MHT CET exam; however, they must satisfy the other conditions mentioned in the eligibility criteria.
• Qualifying Examination: Candidates should have passed 10 + 2 (Class 12) or an equivalent level of examination from a recognised board or university with the PCM group of subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics).
• Qualifying Marks: Candidates should have scored at least 45% in the qualifying exam. However, reserved category candidates must score 40% in the qualifying exam.

To fill out the MHT CET 2024 application form online, candidates must follow the below-mentioned steps:

• 1st Step: Candidates willing to register for the MHT CET exam should first go to the official website. Click on the “New Registration” button.
• 2nd Step: Check out the pre-requisite note for MHT CET registration 2024, and click on “I Accept and Proceed”. 
• 3rd Step: Candidates must add personal details and create an ID and password to complete the MHT-CET application form.
• 4th Step: After creating a registered ID, candidates must mention if they are domiciled in Maharashtra, belong to a particular reservation category, and suffer from a disability.
• 5th Step: Next, candidates must enter their qualification details for SSC / HSC. After that, candidates have to select their subjects and preferred exam centres.
• 6th Step: Then upload the photo, scanned signature and preview the form once to check if all the details are correct. After reviewing all the details, candidates must submit the form and pay the application fee.
• 7th Step: Candidates must pay the application fee online via credit/ debit card/ net banking/ mobile wallets.

MHT CET Application Fee

The application fee for MHT CET 2024 is expected to be Rs.800 for general category candidates and Rs.600 for reserved category candidates. Click on the MHT CET application form to get complete details on the application process.

MHT CET exam 2024 will be divided into Papers 1, 2, and 3. Paper 1 comprises Mathematics. Paper 2 comprises Physics and Chemistry and is common for both streams, i.e., PCM and PCB, while Paper 3 includes Biology.

Each paper, i.e. Paper 1, 2 and 3, must be completed within 90 minutes. In 2024, 20% of the weightage in the total marks will likely be given to the Class 11 syllabus, and 80% of the weightage will be given to the Class 12 syllabus.

• Two marks will be given for every correct answer in Mathematics.

The SCETC will conduct counselling for college admission for candidates who clear the MHT CET 2024. This process will include registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, and final admission.

The counselling process will start after the MHT CET 2024 results have been declared.

• The counselling process will take place online.
• The Centralised Admission Process (CAP), under the guidance of the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra, will handle the MHT CET counselling.
• Candidates need to fill out the online application form for the centralised admission process (CAP) to get admission into UG courses of the colleges of Maharashtra.

There is no counselling fee for candidates who clear the MHT CET. The selection process is based on the merit list.
