Srinivas from the Vellore district of Tamil Nadu noticed the increasing amount of waste in his locality, increase in the wasteland, and unemployment. Srinivas started categorizing these wastes into 18-20 categories. Paper, cardboard, iron, aluminium, plastic, etc. were sorted out and sold to the waste collectors. The rest of the waste that could decompose was also sorted into groups. This also provided rich manure in the form of dung. This dung was then used to produce fuel with help of the gobar gas plant.
