Scalar quantity is a quantity in which only the magnitude is considered. In case of vector quantities, magnitude as well as direction is considered. Distance is a scalar quantity as the direction is not considered in this case. Temperature also does not consider direction. Gravitational and electric field strength considers the direction also.
