Xanthium is an example for plants whose seeds have spines. The seeds stick to the fur of the passing animals, feathers of birds and even to our clothing. In this way, they are carried off to different places. Madar is an example of the seed dispersed by wind. This seed has light tufts of hair on them. In fruits like mangoes, the fruits are eaten by animals and seeds are thrown away. In this way, the mango seeds disperse. Balsam is an example of a seed dispersed by an explosion. The force of the explosion helps to scatter the seeds several feet away from the parent plant. Coconut is dispersed by water.
