A-4 Excess amino acids are broken down into ammonia and further it is converted into urea by the Liver through the urea cycle. Excretion is carried out by the kidneys via blood filtration at higher pressures. Blood reabsorbs water, salts, and glucose but not urea. It is eliminated in urine. B-5 Cytokinin is a plant hormone which is responsible for the cell division. They are produced in root tips and are transported through xylem cells. It stimulates plant growth by cell division as aga inst auxin (found in shoot and root tips) and gibberellin which stimulates growth by cell elongation. C-1 The neuron is the unit of the nervous system. It helps in conduction of the nerve impulses. It has a cyton, axon, dendrites and axon terminal. Nerve impulse gets conducted from one neuron to the other. Between the two neurons, there is a gap called a synapse. D-2 The ovum or an egg cell is the single-cell which is ovary releases every month. It fuses with the sperm cell and forms a diploid cell called a zygote. This zygote later undergoes cell division to form the embryo, which is a future baby. E-3 A stoma is the singular of stomata. Stomata are the openings in the leaf surface. The law of inheritance based on above cross is: Law of Independent Assortment- In the formation of gametes in case of a dihybrid cross, the distribution of one allele of one character is independent of the distribution of the allele of the other character and the alleles of two more genes get sorted into gametes independent of each other and the allele received for one gene does not influence the allele received for another gene.
