(a)-(v) The acrosome is a special kind of organelle with a cap-like structure that covers the anterior portion of the head of the spermatozoon. The acrosome is derived from the Golgi apparatus and contains digestive enzymes. (b)-(vii) Gestation, in mammals, the time between conception and birth, during which the embryo or fetus is developing in the uterus. (c)-(vi) Menopause is a complete stoppage of the menstrual cycle. It is the time that marks the end of menstrual cycles. It can happen in 40-50 years of age and this stage is diagnosed after the women went 12 months without a menstrual period. It results in a change in levels of estrogen hormone. (d)-(i) Foetus is an embryo which looks like a human baby. It is an unborn or unattached offspring of a mammal in particular an unborn human more than eight weeks after conception. (e)-(iii) Oogenesis is the process in which production of ovum cells takes place, these are female reproductive cells that helps to carry the set of chromosomes contributed by the female and create the right environment to enable fertilization by the sperm. (f)-(ii) Ovulation is spontaneously triggered about 36-40 hours after blood levels of a hormone called luteinizing hormone (LH) rise. This is called the LH surge. Once released from the ovary, the egg is picked up by and travels down the fallopian tube where it can meet sperm to become fertilized.
