Calculate angle A in the following figures (i) (ii) (iii) (iv)

Calculation of angle A: (i) We know, sum of angles on any straight line is 180 ° . ∴ A + 2 A = 180 ° ⇒ 3 A = 180 ° ⇒ A = 180 ° 3 = 60 ° Measure of angle A = 60 ∘ (ii) We find, A + 30 ° is right angle 90 ° . Measure of angle A = 90 ° - 30 ∘ = 60 ° (iii) We know, angle on a straight line is 180 ° . Measure of angle A = 180 ∘ + 30 ° = 210 ° (iv) We find, A and 150 ° forms a linear pair of angles. We know, sum of angles forming linear pair is 180 ° . ∵ A + 150 ° = 180 ° ⇒ A = 180 ° - 150 ° = 30 ° Measure of angle A = 180 ° - 150 ∘ = 30 °
