The side $B C$ is the adjacent side for the angle $C$ . The length of $B C$ is $4 cm$ .

The side opposite to angle $C$ is $A B$ , which is known as opposite side of the angle.

In right angle $△ A B C$ ,

$A C^{2} = A B^{2} + B C^{2}$ [By Pythagoras theorem]

$\Rightarrow A B^{2} = A C^{2} - B C^{2}$

$\Rightarrow A B^{2} = 5^{2} - 4^{2}$

$\Rightarrow A B^{2} = 25 - 16 = 9$

$\Rightarrow A B = \sqrt{9} = 3 cm$

Thus, for angle $C$ , the length of hypotenuse is $5 cm$ , length of opposite side is $3 cm$ and the length of adjacent side is $4 cm$ .
