(a) - (iv) Malaria is a water-borne disease. Plasmodium is a protozoan which causes a disease called malaria in humans. It is commonly known as 'Malarial Parasite' (MP). It is transmitted through carrier female Anopheles mosquitoes. (b) - (i) Bacteria such as Rhizobium present in the roots of leguminous plants and certain blue-green algae present in the soil can fix atmospheric nitrogen and convert into usable nitrogenous compounds. (e) - (v) Cholera is an infectious and fatal bacterial disease of the small intestine typically contracted from infected or contaminated water supplies and causing severe vomiting and diarrhoea. It is caused by a comma-shaped organism called Vibrio cholerae. (f) - (vi) Viruses are the intracellular obligate parasites and can undergo reproduction in the presence on the host body.
