Grafting is one of the best methods of vegetative propagation. It is a method in which the cut stems of two different plants (one with roots and the other without roots) are joined together in such a way that the stems join and grow as a single plant. The cut stem of a plant having roots is called stock and the cut stem of the other plant without roots is called scion. Example: Banana and pineapple.

Callus is defined as an undifferentiated mass of cells. It develops from a small piece of plant which is taken from a growing plant and placed on a sterile jelly which contains nutrients and plant hormones.
