We all should make sure that the food that we are eating is healthy and safe to use. Hence, it is very important to take care of our food before consuming it. Here are some of the measures that help us to keep our food free from harmful microorganisms.

1) Keep clean-

After you get the vegetables and fruits from the market, it is mandatory that you should keep the food in a dry and cold place that retains its freshness.

Make sure that wherever you are keeping your food should be clean and without the reach of mosquitoes or flies or any other insects.

2) Separate raw and cooked food- If the raw food and cooked food are kept together then there are chances that the bacteria from raw food can enter the cooked food and contaminate it. If the cooked food is not properly cooed then the bacteria can multiply at faster rates in it. Raw food should always be stored in a sealed container away from the cooked food.

3) Cook thoroughly- The cooked food helps in getting rid of the harmful microorganisms which are capable of causing disease. Eating cooked food helps in the easy digestion and absorption by the digestive system. It also makes chewing simpler and tastes good.

4) Keep food at a safe temperature- keeping the food in lower temperatures reduces the growth of bacteria in meat and other food items.

5) Use safe water and raw material- Using hygienic and clean water prevents us from water-borne diseases. Cleaned raw materials prevent food-borne diseases.
