The occipital lobe is the part of the human brain responsible for interpreting information from the eyes and turning it into the world as a person sees it. The occipital bone forms the base of the skull at the rear of the cranium. It is where the spinal cord exits the skull. There are two oval-shaped occipital condyles, one on each side of the foramen magnum. It articulates with the first vertebra of the spinal cord and also contains the foramen magnum, the large opening of the skill through which the spinal cord passes as it enters the vertebral column.

The frontal bone is the anterior roof of the skull, the bone of the forehead. It articulates (is connected to) with the parietal, sphenoid, ethmoid, nasal, lacrimal, maxillary, and zygomatic bones. It is divided into three parts:

Squamous: This part is large and flat and forms the main region of the forehead.

Orbital: This part lies inferiorly and forms the superior border of the orbit.

Nasal: this part is smaller and articulates with the nasal bones and maxilla to contribute to the roof of the nose.
