Immunity is an ability of the body to fight against all types of foreign agents such as viruses, bacteria, other pathogenic microorganisms, toxins, etc., that enter the body. To combat different varieties of diseases our body has developed an adequate amount of defence mechanism.

Different ways to develop immunity are-

Vaccination /Immunisation- In vaccination dead or inactivated form of pathogens are injected inside the human body to activate the primary immunological response, as a result of which, memory B and T cells develop. These memory cells then act immediately whenever that same pathogen infects the body again.

Exercising and eating healthy help to develop immunity. Eating citrus foods help in building the extracellular matrix of our body and also proven to increase the production of white blood cells.

Adding probiotics to the diet- Having probiotics in the diet increase the healthy microflora of our gut.

The differences between active and passive immunity are:

This immunity is developed in the body, after exposure to infections or vaccination. This immunity is given to the body by means of the mother's milk or passive immunisation
