(a)-(iii), Porifera have a cavity in the centre called spongocoel with a single large opening osculum at the upper end. (b)- (ii), The body cavity of Echinodermata is modified into a unique water vascular system that moves organs of respiration and locomotion, the tube feet or podia. (c)- (vii), They are exclusively aquatic animals and are called fishes. They obtain dissolved oxygen from water by making use of their respiratory organs known as gills. (d)-(ix), The mammals are warm-blooded animals with four-chambered heart. A fleshy external ear called pinna is present. (e)- (i), They are bilaterally symmetrical and triploblastic like Platyhelminthes. But the body is cylindrical (or round like) rather than flattened unlike that of flatworms and hence also called roundworms. (f)- (vi), They are bilaterally symmetrical, triploblastic and coelomic animals. They possess the notochord at some stage of their life. Examples are Herdmania , Amphioxus and Balanoglossus . (g)- (iv), They differ from the fishes in lacking scales on the skin, having mucus glands in the skin, and having a three-chambered heart. Respiration occurs either through gills or the lungs. (h)- (v), They are cold-blooded terrestrial or aquatic vertebrates. Their body is covered by scales which prevent the loss of water. The body is divided into head, neck, trunk and tail. (i)- (x), They are also bilaterally symmetrical and triploblastic but they have a true body cavity (called coelom). This allows true organs to be packaged in the body structure. Hence, there is extensive organ differentiation. The differentiation occurs in a segmental fashion. The segments are lined up one after another from head to tail due to which they are also called segmented worms. (j)- (viii), Phylum Arthropoda includes the animals comprising exoskeleton made of chitin and jointed appendages. (a)- (ii), Gymnosperms are naked seeded plants. In other words, it can be said that their seeds are not enclosed by the fruit or ovary wall. (b)- (i), Inside the flowers, there is a female reproductive organ called ovary which forms the fruit. The ovary encloses the ovule which forms the seed. Thus the seeds are enclosed inside the fruit or ovary. (c)- (iv), Flagella helps in the process of locomotion. Euglena are unicellular eukaryotes. They make use of appendages such as a whip-like flagella for moving around. (d)- (iii), Marchantia is a simple land plant which grows on cool damp places. They do not have a vascular system for conduction of substances and reproduce via spore. They fall under the division Bryophyta. (e)- (vi), In Marsilea , plant body is differentiated into root, leaf and stem. They have specialised vascular tissues (xylem and phloem) for the conduction of water and other substances from one part of the body to another. They are categorised under Pteridophyta. (f)- (v), Cladophora is a green thallophyte and does not have well-differentiated root, stem and leaves. Such type of body design is called a thallus. The plants in this group are commonly called algae and fall under Thallophyta. (g)- (vii), Penicillium is a multicellular, heterotrophic eukaryote in which the cell wall is made up of chitin. It produces antibiotics. It falls under kingdom Fungi.
