The figure shows the various forces acting on a body that is sliding in an inclined plane. Here, $θ$ is the angle of inclination. $F_{N}$ represents the normal force, $F_{g}$ represents the gravitational force, $F_{a}$ represents the applied force and $F_{f}$ represents the frictional force acting on the body. The frictional force always acts opposite to the direction of motion of a body i.e $F_{a}$ is opposite to the direction of $F_{f}$ . Since, the body is sliding in an inclined plane, sliding friction acts in this case. Here the applied force is actually the force of gravity, under the influence of which the body is sliding and the downward force, $F_{g}$ represents the weight of the body.
