Seminiferous tubules are the highly coiled structures that carry out the production of sperms and are situated in the testicular lobule. It is lined by germinal epithelium. Majority of the cells in this epithelium are cuboidal spermatogenic cells, but few are large, pyramidal, supporting Sertoli cells.

Spermatogonia: these are the male germ cells that produce primary spermatocytes by meiotic divisions. This primary spermatocyte on further meiotic division forms secondary spermatocytes and finally results in spermatids.
