The figure given below shows the free body diagram of a car under consideration.

In the diagram,

$F$ represents force exerted by the engine. The direction of the arrow is in the direction of movement of the car.

$f$ represents the frictional force acting on the car. The direction of the arrow representing frictional force in a direction opposite to the motion of the car.

$N_{1}$ and $N_{2}$ represents the normal forces acting on the wheels of car.

$W$ represents the gravitational force acting on the car which is equivalent to the weight of the car.

Net force along x-axis (direction), $F_{n e t, x} = f - F$

Net force along y-axis (direction), $F_{n e t, y} = N_{1} + N_{2} - W$
