Simple permanent tissues are the types of permanent tissues that contain only one type of cells. It is of three types which are as follows:

1. PARENCHYMA TISSUE:

The thickened walls of the collenchyma cells enable them to provide additional support to the areas where they are found. They also prevent tearing of leaves.

2. COLLENCHYMA TISSUE:

Sclerenchyma cells are strong, thick cells that provide most of the support in a plant. They are known to have extremely thick cell walls as they have lignin deposition and do not participate in many of the other activities of the developing plant, such as photosynthesis, because their focus is strictly on support and structure.

3. SCLERENCHYMA TISSUE:

A neat labeled diagram of sclerenchyma tissue where A is the transverse section of cells in polygonal form, B is the longitudinal section of the cells in the elongated form, C is the three-dimensional appearance and D is a sclereid.
