Vegetative propagation is a means of asexual reproduction in which, the new plants can be grown from the vegetative parts, such as roots, stem, and leaves. Plants such as banana, rose, orange, etc., have lost their capacity to produce viable seeds, hence the process of vegetative propagation is followed. In vegetative reproduction, new plant can be grown from vegetative parts like the stem of the parent plants. Vegetative propagation can also be followed to grow plant with desired or higher traits.
