The tendency of two or more genes located on the same chromosome to remain together completely unchanged and inherit together as a unit during their transmission to the filial generation is known as complete linkage.
Example: Let us consider that two pairs of allelic genes Aa and Bb are located on a pair of homologous chromosomes. If the heterozygote of these genes is test crossed with a recessive homozygote (AB //ab x ab//ab), the following progenies will be obtained according to the conditions of complete linkage-

The above-mentioned cross AB and ab are linked genes present on a separate chromosome. During gamete formation from the parent, only AB and ab gametes are formed, and these are all parental types, which means the genetic constitution of the gametes is similar to the genetic constitution of the parental chromosomes. In this case, crossing over does not take place and 100% of gametes are of parental types.
