The parts of our bodies that help us to move and to hold things are known as limbs. Most animals have limbs. Snakes crawl as they do not have legs at all. They move in a wavy or crawling motion. The skin of these animals is covered with scales, that helps in their movement and gives protection.

Mammals are the animals that give birth to young ones that resemble their parents. They have hair on their bodies. They feed their babies on milk from their body. Most mammals live on land and mammals such as whales and dolphins live in water.

A particular place where an animal can live and grow naturally is called its habitat. The habitat for wild animals is forest. We build homes for our domestic animals. We must protect our wildlife and do not destroy the natural habitats of animals.
