Transport and Communication in Haryana
Roadways and Railways are two major means of transport in the state of Haryana, whereas there are a few domestic airports in the state too.
Roadways
1. The state has a total of 34 National Highways passing through it having a total network of 2484 Km. Some major national highways passing through the state are- NH-11, NH-19, NH-44, NH-48, NH-05, NH-07, NH-09, NH-703.
2. There are a total of 11 expressways passing through the state, out of which three are national expressways.
3. The total network of State highways in the state is 1801 Km.
Railways
1. The railways extended in the state of Haryana are regulated by 5 railway divisions namely- Bikaner Railway Division, Jaipur Railway Division, Delhi Railway Division, Ambala Railway Division, and Agra Railway Division.
2. There are a total of 121 railway stations in the state.
Airways
The state has 5 civil airstrips at Hisar, Bhiwani, Karnal, Narnaul, and Pinjore.
Communication
1. Newspapers and Magazines play a vital role in the communication of Haryana. Some major newspapers and magazines of the state are- Dainik Tribune, Punjab Kesari, Hari Bhoomi, Aaj Samaj, Haryana Sanvad, etc.
