How does ribosome work in the process of translation?

The ribosome is responsible for translating encoded messages from messenger RNA molecules to synthesize proteins from amino acids. They use the sequence of codons in mRNA to assemble amino acids into polypeptide chains. In translation, the codons of an mRNA are read in order (from the 5' end to the 3' end) by molecules called transfer RNAs, or tRNAs. tRNAs bind to mRNAs inside of a protein-and-RNA structure called the ribosome.
