Nucleus: This organelle is called director of the cell. The nucleus controls all the activities of the cell and it contains the genetic information (DNA) of the cell.

Endoplasmic reticulum - The endoplasmic reticulum is the channel through which transport within the cell takes place.

Mitochondria: In the mitochondria, chemical energy in food nutrients is converted to ATP molecules that can store energy in a form that can be used by the cells. Hence, it is called as the "powerhouse" of the cell.

Lysosomes: These organelles are small sacs that contain digestive enzymes. These enzymes are used to digest foreign materials, worn-out and old organelles.

Ribosomes: These organelles are called as protein factories of the cell. It is the site at which protein synthesis takes place in the cell.

Cell wall: This is the membrane that encloses the cell membrane in plant cells. It provides shape to the plant cells. It is found in plant cells only.
