Nostrils: The air enters our body through the external openings of the nasal cavity called nostrils.

Nasal cavity: It has fine hairs present on its surface which filter out the dust particles from the inhaled air. Nasal cavity also helps in warming that air that we breathe in.

Trachea: It acts as a passage for the oxygen-rich air enter into the lungs and carbon dioxide-rich air move out of the lungs.

Bronchi: The trachea divides into two small tubes called bronchi, which enter the lungs.

Lungs: These are the primary organs of respiration in humans.

Alveoli: Each bronchus branches out into smaller tubes called bronchioles, within the lungs. At the end of bronchioles are tiny air sacs called alveoli. The walls of the alveoli are lined with a network of blood capillaries to facilitate the exchange of gases.

Diaphragm: It contracts and relaxes to help in the process of breathing by increasing and decreasing the volume of the chest cavity.
