There are three ways by which we can prove that sodium is more reactive than iron.

(i) Sodium vigorously reacts with cold water to generate a large amount of heat while heated iron takes time to react with steam too. This implies that sodium is more reactive than iron.

(ii) Sodium metal reacts with ferric oxide $({Fe}_{2} O_{3})$ to form sodium oxide by displacing iron from its oxide. This displacement reaction is possible because sodium is more reactive than iron.

$6 Na (s) + {Fe}_{2} O_{3} (s) \to 3 {Na}_{2} O (s) + 2 Fe (s)$

(iii) Sodium reacts with acids very quickly while iron takes some time to react with the same acids.
