$1 .$ The sublimation method of separation is demonstrated in the diagram. In this process, a mixture of ammonium chloride and common salt is heated with the help of a burner.

$2 .$ It is the process in which a solid directly changes into vapour (gaseous state) on heating, without converting to a liquid state in between. On cooling, the vapours change back into solid. This solid is called a sublimate. Some solids which sublime on heating are naphthalene balls, iodine, ammonium chloride and camphor.

$3 .$ A mixture of ammonium chloride and common salt is given. We will observe that the white fumes evolve from this mixture, which is caused due to sublimation of ammonium chloride. Hence, the ammonium chloride is solid in the mixture which is undergoing the process of sublimation. The vapours of ammonium chloride are then condensed on a cold surface. Sodium chloride is left behind.

$4 .$ Two other solids that undergo the process of sublimation are:

Dry ice-Dry ice is the solid form of carbon dioxide. It sublimates directly from the solid state to the gas state.

Naphthalene balls also show the process of sublimation.
