An electric bell is made out of a wire coil. An iron piece with an electromagnet coiled on it. An electromagnet is created by the coil. The electromagnet is kept close by an iron strip with a hammer at one end. A contact screw is located near the iron strip. The diagram of an electric switch is as given below:

Current travels through the coil when the iron strip comes into contact with the screw, creating an electromagnet. The iron strip is then pulled towards it. The hammer at the end of the strip makes contact with the bell's gong, which produces a sound. The magnetic field formed by the electromagnet attracts the iron strip towards it when the circuit is complete, which is how an electric bell works. Because the hammer keeps hitting the gong, we hear a ringing sound at this point. Meanwhile, because of the spring linked to its arm, the hammer is held away from the gong in its rest position. This is a so-called anchored arm. When the electromagnet pulls the iron strip, however, the circuit is broken. When the current in the coil stops flowing, the coil ceases to be an electromagnet. The iron strip is no longer attracted to it. The iron strip returns to its original position and makes contact with the contact screw once more.
