(i) - (b) Carbohydrates are sugars that are present in our food. The digestion of carbohydrates starts in the mouth. Polysaccharides such as starch are converted into maltose in the mouth which is further converted into glucose in the small intestine. (ii) - (c) Proteins are bodybuilding nutrients. They can be broken down by the bile juice secreted by the liver and the enzyme, lipase secreted by the stomach, mouth, and pancreas.
