a-ii Ribosomes are cytoplasmic organelles often found either attached to the membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum or found freely in the cytoplasm of the cell. It is the site of protein synthesis. b-vi The green plastids present in plant cells that give a green colour to the leaves are called the chloroplasts. They contain a photosynthetic pigment called chlorophyll which helps in the synthesis of food.
