Bacillus: A single detached cell with a rod-like appearance.

Diplobacilli: After cell division, two rods are connected to each other and found in pairs.

Coccobacilli: These bacilli are shorter than typical bacilli and oval in shape, like a coccus. Chlamydia trachomatis, Haemophilus influenzae, Gardnerella vaginalis, and other bacteria are examples.

Palisades: After cell division, the bacilli bend and are placed in a palisade, fence-like structure. Corynebacterium diptheriae is one example.
