The eardrum is a thin, elastic and circular membrane that is stretched tightly is present at the end of the ear canal. The sound waves pass through the ear canal and fall on the eardrum. When these waves fall on the eardrum, the eardrum starts vibrating back and forth rapidly and pass the vibrations inside to other parts of the ear.
