Female reproductive system of cockroach is meant to produce eggs for the purpose of reproduction. It consists of :

Ovaries: One pair of ovaries situated in second to the sixth segment of the abdomen.

Ovarioles: Each ovary consists of eight long tubular structures called ovarioles. Only one egg is released from each ovariole.

Oviducts: These tubular structures arise from the ovaries.

Vagina: Both oviducts of ovaries fuse and form the vagina which opens inside the body in a genital chamber.

Genital chamber: It is formed by the fusion of three abdominal segments. A pair of the spermatheca and one pair of collateral glands is associated with the genital chamber. These are branched tubular glands. Both these glands open in the genital chamber by a common pore.

External genitalia or ovipositor: Three pairs of chitinous processes hanging from the roof of the genital chamber into its cavity represents the external genitalia of female cockroach. It is also called ovipositor because it helps in giving a proper shape to the ootheca and in the arrangement of the eggs inside it.
