The state of Goa is crossed by two main and seven minor rivers. The Zuari, Mandovi, Tiracol, Chapora, Sal, Talpona, and Galgibag are the principal rivers, following is a detailed description of the Zuari and the Mandovi river:

Zuari River

The largest river in the state is the Zuari. A tidal river beginning in the Western Ghats at Hemad-Barshem.

In the interior, the river is also known as the Aghanashani. It passes through the talukas of Tiswadi, Ponda, Mormugao, Salcete, Sanguem, and Quepem as it flows in a south-westerly direction.

Agacaim, which is located on the north bank of the river, and Cortalim, which is located on the south bank, are connected by the Zuari bridge.

Mandovi River

It is also known as the Mahadayi or Mhadei river, is referred to as the state of Goa's lifeblood. It comes from a collection of $30$ springs in Bhimgad in the Western Ghats of Karnataka's Belgavi district.

Through the Sattari Taluka, the Mandovi enters Goa from the north. Later, it passes through Chodan, Diwadi, and Cumbharjua before emptying into the Arabian Sea.

The Dudhsagar Falls and the Varapoha Falls are two waterfalls along the Mandovi.
