A-5 AIDS (acquired immuno deficiency syndrome) is a usually fatal illness caused by a retrovirus (ss RNA) known as the human immuno deficiency virus (HIV) which weakens the body’s immune system. B-4 Lysozyme is an enzyme that is able to lyse bacterial cell membranes formed of peptidoglycan and thus serve as an antimicrobial agent. Lysozyme occurs naturally in saliva and tears. C-1 Activated B-lymphocyte multiplies very fast to produce clone of plasma cells and memory B-cells. The plasma cells produce specialized glycoproteins, called antibodies. D-2 Sensitized helper T-cells produce lymphokines for performing several types of functions like proliferation of other T-cells, stimulation of B-lymphocytes, macrophages, etc. E-3 Antibodies are glycoproteins which are highly specific to specific antigens. They are also known as Immunoglobulins (Igs), produced in response to antigens.
