A typical flower consists of thalamus or torus and on which four sets of floral leaves are arranged e.g., (1) Calyx, (2) Corolla, (3) Androecium and (4) Gynoecium are successively arranged.
Structure of Flower:

Calyx: It is the outermost and first flower set consisting of some green leaf-like structures known as the sepals. The sepals are united and termed gamosepalous. Sepals 5, tubular, valvate.
Corolla: It lies just above the calyx and is the second floral set, consisting of several coloured leafy structures, called the petals. The petals are free and termed as polypetalous, regular, showy, petals 5, slightly united at the base, twisted.

Androecium: It lies above the corolla and is the third floral set consisting of a number of male organs, known as the stamens. Each stamen possesses a slender stalk, called the filament and a sac-like structure, at the top of the filament called the anther. Stamens many, united by filaments to form a hollow staminal column, monadelphous, anther unicellular, free, bean-shaped.

Gynoecium: It is the innermost fourth as well as the uppermost set of the flower. The gynoecium or pistil consists of one or more female organs known as carpels. Each carpel is differentiated into a receptive terminal portion, called the stigma, a long slender stalk called the style and a swollen basal portion called the ovary. The ovary contains certain oval-shaped stalked bodies, known as the ovules (megasporangia). Carpels 5, syncarpous (united) style passes through the staminal column, stigma 5, free, ovary superior, 5-chambered with two ovules in each chamber, axile placentation.
