Self-pollination: When pollen grains transfer from the anther of the flower to the stigma of the same flower or to the stigma of another flower of the same plant is known as self-pollination.

In opuntia, the stem is thick, flat, green and with nodes and internodes. In such types of stems, the food is prepared by the stem and the leaves are modified to spines to prevent the loss of water that usually takes place by transpiration.
