A convex mirror always forms a virtual, erect and diminished image of an object irrespective of its position from the mirror.

A concave lens also forms an erect and diminished image of an object irrespective of the position of the object from the lens.

Two methods by which we can form enlarged images of an object are given below:

A concave mirror can form an enlarged and erect image of an object behind the mirror when the object is placed very close to the concave mirror.

A convex lens can also form an enlarged image of the object when the object is placed very close to it. Convex lens forms a virtual and bigger image of the object when the object is placed between the optical centre and the focus of the lens.
